Comfy Work Attire

Maternity fashion

At 21 weeks, my bump is slowly but surely starting to pop.  For work, I want to be comfortable and relaxed but still work appropriate.  In the summer, I don't like to wear pants too often so I gravitate to dresses and they have proven to be my best friend during this pregnancy.  Comfy is key and this blue dress is simple and classic.  This is perfect for the office.

I added a little sparkle with my Amrita Singh starfish pendant and wore black open toe booties.  These shoes are on heavy rotation since they are comfortable and not too high.  For the most part, I have begun to commute to work in flats now and put my heels on once I get to the office.  It is definitely a hard transition to try to wear my flats more often.

Zara florals

Zara floral pants for summer Astoria in heels

Florals are always in season if you ask me.  When its hot in New York, you want to be as cool as possible and these off the shoulder shirts are a great way to do that.  With my pregnancy, I don't want to constantly buy new clothes for the different sizes I become.  Luckily for me, Zara had these floral pants that have an elastic waistband in the back.  I know they will work with my growing body.  Not too mention, they are also chic and extremely comfortable, which you definitely want in this heat.

These pants are of lightweight material and I love the eyelet material of the top.  It gives an added dimension to the entire outfit.  The off the shoulder trend is still going strong this summer and I have found myself wearing this top very often.

Surprise!!!

pregnancy fashion, pregnancy reveal

So I have a good reason why I haven't been posting as usual as before.  I'm pregnant!  Ricardo and I are expecting our first child and we are extremely overjoyed!  This Friday, I am now 21 weeks!  This definitely explains my "loose fitting" style recently.

I am so excited, its as if I don't even know who I am anymore.  What I mean by that is that I actually was not really much of a "kid" person.  Throughout my life, I have always gone back and forth about whether or not I wanted children.  The biggest factor in my life that changed that is my husband, Ricardo.  He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and he is such an amazing person that I couldn't imagine not having a child with him.  I know he will be an amazing father and I am looking forward to see the mom I will become.

Now, on to some items I wanted to share about my pregnancy.  I have been very fortunate and have not been terribly sick at all.  I had minimal nausea and queasiness but I was exhausted more than anything.  For the nausea, I would get small bouts of it during the day at work and I would have a peppermint candy and it would make me feel better right away.  I have never known exhaustion like that.  I would get up and not know how I was going to get through the day.  The overwhelming fatigue kept me from going to the gym or anywhere for that that matter.  We planned our trip to Italy before we found out I was pregnant and as it approached, I was nervous I wouldn't be able to enjoy it.  I was concerned that I wouldn't have any energy but luckily, once I got there, I felt so much better.  Vacations have a funny way of doing that.

I'm in my second trimester now and can say that my energy has fully come back and I am feeling great.  Everything is going smoothly and can't really complain about anything.  I haven't had a weird cravings really except that I want soda so badly.  I have not been a soda drinker for some time now but all I want is to sneak a sip of coca-cola!  I am definitely trying to curb that because I don't want that to become a habit.

I am due on November 25th, Thanksgiving time!  I can't wait to meet our little baby.  This has been an incredible time for me and still in awe of the miracle of life growing inside of me.  I hope you enjoy this journey with me and I can't wait to share my pregnancy fashion with you.  I've still been wearing my heels even though I have been checked many times by older relatives and friends who get upset with me every time.  I am careful though and make sure to commute to work in my flats but you know how uncomfortable flats are for me.

Donni Charm Neck Scarf

Zara pants astoria new york

Loose and light clothing have been my style go to pieces this season.  I found these pants and more like them at Zara and I plan to live in them all summer.  They are loose fitting and sit comfortably around my waist.  I had tickets to the New York Football Club match and their colors are blue and white.  This was perfect for my game gear :)

This neck scarf was a great find from Donni Charm, I like how easily it can transform any outfit.  This is my easy breezy white button down from Theory and these are new shades I purchased from Gucci while in Italy.  Light fabrics keep me cool in these hot temps and I we all know how much I like to wear white.  These pants are great for work and for fun, they also pair well with tank tops.  When its warm out, I don't like to wear jeans that may cling to me no matter how thin they are.  These pants are a great alternative.
